Antique Chinoiserie Ceramic Incense Globe
LES THÈMES
Hand-Painted Floral Incense Globe
A fascinating find for incense enthusiasts and collectors alike, these ceramic spheres once served as "carpet balls" in a Victorian-era parlor game similar to bocce, popular over a century ago in England and Scotland. While the pastime has faded, the appeal of their form and red hand-painted floral motifs remains timeless. To give them a second life, a small hole has been added to hold an incense stick, allowing the sphere to be delicately balanced while in use. Equally captivating as a decorative object, these pieces carry both history and artistry into the present day.
Each globe includes a small bundle of my own favorite incense sticks as a little surprise, making it ready to enjoy the moment it arrives.
